ACUTE ADULT & GERO-PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES

Good Samaritan Hospital is one of the only licensed and accredited facilities in the area prepared and experienced in treating our older loved ones who need specialized behavioral care.
We offer inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults and elder adults who are 65 and up (with some exceptions). We provide comprehensive assessment, short-term, intensive treatment and discharge planning services to adults and older adults with a variety of acute emotional health problems. The patients we serve may come to the hospital voluntarily or they may be on involuntary holds, as we do have LPS designation.
Our 21 bed unit is located next to the Medical and Surgical Unit, which allows for 24 hour assistance from a medical doctor. This can greatly alleviate the difficulties and barriers some patients experience in receiving the help they need.
Treatment Team & Plan
A treatment team is provided to each patient who is admitted to the hospital. Each team includes a psychiatrist, nurse, care manager and therapist. With the involvement and input of the patient, a customized treatment plan is developed to address the needs of the patient. Progress is reviewed daily with each patient and their assigned treatment team during the rounds with the Physician.
