About the Role
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing/Patient Care Services, the Nurse Manager is responsible for maintaining staff effectiveness and efficiency in the Medical-Surgical Unit/Intensive Care Unit. The Nurse Manager is responsible for:
• Initiating, guiding, and directing the coordination of services provided by the department.
• Functioning as a resource person for staff members and assisting in necessary education to promote effective management of the department.
• Monitoring the overall quality of nursing care provided in the Medical-Surgical Unit/Intensive Care Unit & Surgery.
• Making decisions regarding activities in his/her area of responsibility, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing/Patient Care Services, based on Hospital Administrative, Human Resources, and Department of Nursing Standards.
Requirements
Required Licensees/Certifications:
Current licensure in California as a Registered Nurse.
Current B.L.S. and A.C.L.S. certifications.
Work Experience:
Minimum of three years clinical practice with emphasis on leadership and management experience.
